Following years of working closely with Local Authorities and schools, Mental Nurture was created to address the growing needs shared by the professionals, parents and students.
At Mental Nurture, it is believed that everyone deserves a deep understanding of their uniqueness and how that can be used as a tool to reach their full potential. Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Educational Psychologist, and how can you help me/my child/my school?
An Educational Psychologist (EP) specialises in understanding how people learn, think, and develop, particularly within educational and developmental contexts. At Mental Nurture, I help by assessing cognitive and learning profiles, understanding emotional and social needs, and providing targeted support, training, and consultation to individuals, families, and schools. My goal is to foster well-being and unlock potential.
Who can benefit from your services?
Children, families, educators, and professionals can all benefit from our tailored support and comprehensive training programs.
Do I need a referral to access your services?
No, you don't need a referral to access Mental Nurture's private services. You can contact us directly. If you have questions or would like to discuss your needs before committing, we offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to help you understand how we can support you.
What's the difference between an Educational Psychologist and a therapist/counsellor?
While both roles support well-being, Educational Psychologists specifically focus on the intersection of psychology and education/development. We specialise in learning, cognition, development, and system-level influences (like schools or family dynamics). Therapists and counsellors often focus more broadly on emotional and mental health through talking therapies. Our work often involves assessment, intervention, and consultation related to learning, behaviour, and navigating educational systems.
What should I expect from a psychological assessment?
A psychological assessment with Mental Nurture is a comprehensive process designed to understand an individual's unique strengths and challenges. It typically involves gathering information through discussions, observations, and tailored activities. The goal is to provide clear insights and actionable recommendations that inform effective support strategies for learning, development, and well-being.
